JAMMU : A fresh batch of 85 pilgrims today left for the cave shrine of Amarnath in the south Kashmir Himalayas, amid tight security.
The batch comprising 50 sadhus, 30 men, four women and a child left in two buses from Bhagwati Nagar base camp here at 4.40 AM, a police official said.
The pilgrims would reach at the twin base camps of Pahalgam and Baltal by this evening amid security arrangements made by CRPF, he said.
As many as 3,47,336 pilgrims paid obeisance at the cave of Lord Shiva till yesterday.
With today’s batch, 48,439 pilgrims have so far left from the Jammu base camp for the shrine. (AGENCIES)
