JAMMU, Aug 17: The Coordination Committee meeting of PDP and BJP, scheduled tonight at official residence of Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh, chairman of the Panel, in Srinagar was postponed at the eleventh hour due to preoccupation of some PDP leaders including party president Mehbooba Mufti. The meeting has been re-scheduled for 6 pm tomorrow at the same venue.
Official sources said the meeting, which was scheduled over dinner at Dr Singh’s residence was postponed after getting a call from Mehbooba Mufti. All five BJP members in the Committee had reached Srinagar to attend the meeting.
The Committee was scheduled to discuss the appointments to State Accountability Commission (SAC), Backward Classes Commission (BCC) and filling up of the posts of vice chairpersons of more Boards/Corporations among other issues.
The Committee comprised Dr Nirmal Singh, chairman, Jugal Kishore Sharma, Thupstan Chhewang, Shamsher Singh and Lal Singh (all BJP), Mehbooba Mufti, Muzaffar Hussain Baig, Tariq Hamid Karra, Abdul Rehman Veeri and Naeem Akhter (all PDP).
