PAMPORE, Aug 18: Minister for Health and Medical Education Choudhary Lal Singh today inaugurated 100-bed new Sub-District Hospital building at Pampore constructed by Jammu and Kashmir Police Housing Corporation at a cost of Rs 5.96 crore.
MLA Pampore, Mir Zahoor Ahmad, was also present on the occasion.
The Minister was informed that the construction work for the new three-storeyed hospital building was taken up in 2008. He was informed that the hospital was fully equipped with the modern sophisticated machinery for the benefit of the people.
The Minister inspected various sections of the hospital which include Emergency Wards, ERTC Rooms, ECG Section, Operation Theatres, sick and childcare units, General Drug Stores and Blood Bank and enquired about the facilities being provided to the patients.
While inspecting the Blood Bank, the Minister expressed his displeasure over non-availability of blood despite having the adequate facility of blood transfusion in the hospital. He asked the medicos and paramedics to regularly organize blood donation camps in the hospital. He appealed youth to donate blood as a social service for saving precious human lives.
Choudhary Lal Singh interacted with patients and their attendants and enquired about various facilities being provided to them and gave on the spot directions to the concerned for improvement of sanitation facilities in and around the hospitals besides ensuring hassle free treatment facilities to the patients. The Minister issued strict orders for providing free of cost treatment facilities to the pregnant mothers and infants besides to and fro transport facilities to them under JSSY. He warned of stern action against those officials who are found negligent towards their duties.
The Minister announced one additional ambulance for the Sub District Hospital in addition to new ambulance allotted to the hospital recently. He also announced that sufficient staff will be provided to the hospital shortly.
The Minister directed the concerned executing agency to ensure lift facilities in the hospital for which necessary funds have already been provided to them.
Secretary Health and Medical Education, Director Health Kashmir, Director Family Welfare, Mission Director NHM, Managing Director Police Housing Corporation, CMO Pulwama were present on the occasion.
