Deputation of Gaddi Sippi tribes meets BJP MP

JAMMU, Aug 18:  A delegation of All J & K Gaddi Sippi Tribes  Welfare Association met BJP president and Member Parliament Jugal Kishore Sharma, today.
The deputation under the leadership of its State president Parveen Jaryal presented memorandum of their demands regarding prevailing situation of forcible eviction of Gaddi Sippi nomads.
The  demands of Gaddi and Sippi tribes included nomination of members of Gaddi Sippi community to “State and District Advisory Boards for development of Gujjar and Bakkerwal “, establishment of Gaddi Sippi Hostels at six places viz. Jammu, Kathua, Ramban, Bani, Doda  and Bhadarwah, the word ‘Koli’ should be changed into Sippi in revenue record so that the so called ‘Koli’ could also get their due share under ST Category and establishment of an Advisory Board for development of Gaddi and Sippi tribes which comprises of a sizeable population of about 3 lakh in J&K State.
The BJP president heard the deputationists patiently and assured that their demands would be taken up with the Chief Minister.
The deputationists included Rakesh Kumar, tehsil president Shiv Kumar district secretary Abinesh, district cashier, Manoj Uttram, tehsil secretary and several others.
