JAMMU, Aug 18: Awami National Conference has condemned tall claims of Government in dealing with worst ever power crisis in State in general and Jammu region in particular which has further deepened in Jammu at a time when the heat wave is increasing day-by-day thereby making the life of the people virtually a hell.
ANC provincial president, Gian Singh, in a statement issued here said that everyday there are protests and demonstrations by the people over the power crisis in various parts of Jammu but nobody from the Power Development Department seems to be ready to take steps to provide succor to the people from the scorching heat.
Singh said that what to talk of the non-metered areas, even the localities where 100% metering of consumers was done several years back, have been reeling under acute power crisis. The intensity of the prevailing situation can be gauged from the fact that an hour of power supply is followed by an hour of power cut.
