Nickel futures marginally up on spot demand

NEW DELHI, Aug 19:  Supported by rising demand from alloy-makers at domestic spot markets, nickel futures traded a shade higher at Rs 680.30 per kg as speculators enlarged positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in August was up by just 50 paise, to Rs 680.30 per kg, with a business turnover of 871 lots.
Metal for delivery in September traded edged up by 40 paise, or 0.06 per cent, to Rs 686.70 per kg, with a turnover of 62 lots.
Marketmen attributed the rise in nickel prices in futures trade to a firm demand from consuming industries particularly alloy-makers amid metal’s strength at the London Metal Exchange. (PTI)
