JAMMU, Aug 20: Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation (JKMEF) today condemned the police action on two Medical Officers (MOs) and some Para Medical Staff of Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar (Jammu).
In a meeting held today under the chairmanship of its president, Sushil Sudan, JKMEF strongly condemned action taken by police on hospital staff, who have been un-necessarily detained after a patient reportedly died at the hospital after being brought there in serious condition despite rendering all possible available treatment.
The meeting alleged that the police has registered a false and fabricated case on the instances of some vested interests just to malign the image of doctors and Para Medical staff posted at Government Hospital GandhiNagar.
To raise their voice against the attitude of police as well as District Administration, the Medical employees today sat on one day strike whereas emergency services/operation were exempted from purview of strike.
The Federation warned that in case Administration failed to take appropriate action in the matter including release of doctors and Para Medical Staff, then the Federation will adopt agitational path through-out Jammu Province.
