JAMMU, Aug 21: All J&K Low Paid Employees Federation (LPEF) has strongly criticized the State Government for impounding the recently released 6% DA into the GP Fund Account of the employees.
In a statement issued here, LPEF president, Abdul Majid Khan, said the impounding of DA into the GP Fund Account of the employees negates the very purpose of grant of DA neutralizing the adverse impact of price rise index. “Moreover, the Central Government employees are paid the same in cash always”, he added.
The Federation chief also sought revision of minimum daily wage to Rs 350, remuneration of village guards at par with minimum daily wage prevalent in the State, adequate enhancement of honorarium of Numberdars, enhancement of monthly medical allowance of State employees and pensioners from Rs 300 to at least Rs 1000, etc.
He also urged the Government to bring into the ambit of empowered committee setup to approve creation of posts for regularization of left over legible daily wage workers engaged prior to January 31, 2014.
