416 perform darshan at holy cave

JAMMU, Aug 23: On the 53rd day of the ongoing Shri Amarnath yatra, 416 pilgrims paid obeisance at the holy cave today.
Till date 3,50, 788 yatris have paid obeisance at cave shrine since the first batch of pilgrims left for holy cave from Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas here on July 1.
The two month long yatra to holy cave situated in deep Hiamalyas in South Kashmiri district of Anantnag at an altitude of 3880 meters will culminate on Sawan Purnima falling on August 29 after the silver mace of the Lord Shiva reaches holy cave. The day also coincides with Raksha Bandhan festival.
The holy mace will leave from Dashnami Akhara Srinagar in the morning of August 25 and after performing Pooja at Durga Naag Temple Srinagar, Shiv Temple Pampore, Shiv Temple Bijbehara, Sun Temple Mattan, Ganeshbal Pahalgam it will reach Pahalgam on the same day and it will start onwards journey to cave shrine next day.
