KATHUA, Aug 23: A SPO was killed while the constable was seriously injured after the motor cycle on which they were riding was hit by a Tata Mobile bearing number JK 02 AG 2253 coming from opposite direction at a sharp curve on Billawar Ramkote road.
The duo were posted in Ramkote Police Post were on way from Billawar to Ramkote.
According to police the SPO who was identified as Rajiv Sharma, son of Om Dutt Sharma of Billawar died on spot while the Police Constable Kuldeep Kumar, son of Wazir Chand who was driving the motor cycle was seriously injured. Both are the residents of Billawar.
The constable has been shifted to GMC where his condition is stated to be out of danger. The Tata Mobile fled from the spot and police has launched a hunt for the driver.
The dead body of SPO was handed over to his family after postmortem for cremation. The Billawar Police has registered a case under relevant sections of the law.
