JAMMU, Aug 23: Sanskrit Adhyapak Sangh, Jammu and Kashmir has strongly condemned the State Higher Education Department for keeping Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan Kot Bhalwal in the list of outside universities.
“HRD Ministry approved Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan Kot Bhalwal has been functioning here since 1970 but some Zonal Education Officers are categorizing the degrees of this institute with Rehbar-e-Taleem as of outside universities, which is wrong and illegal,” said Dr Vinod Kumar Shastri, president of Sanskrit Adhyapak Sangh, while addressing a press conference, here today.
While elaborating, he said that the Sansthan was established on October 15, 1970 and it has now been declared as Deemed University on the recommendation of University Grants Commission by the Ministry of HRD vide notification number 9-28/2000-U-3, dated May 7, 2002. The UGC has also notified this declaration vide notification number F6-31/2001 (CP-I) dated 13-6-2002, F-9-28/2000-U.3 dated 1.1.2009, F.9-28/2000-U.3 dated 30-06-2009, Vinod Shastri added.
He appealed the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister to ensure that justice is done with the Sanskrit teachers during the ongoing process of verification of degrees of ReTs.
At the same time, Vinod Shastri also warned to adopt an agitational path if the genuine concern of Sanskrit teachers is ignored.
