JAMMU, Aug 23:  Demanding continuation of their service, temporary teachers of 2014 held a strong protest demonstration, here today.
The protest, organized under the banner of J&K Temporary Teachers Association-2014 Jammu was led by the Association president Balwinder Singh Mawar. The protesting teachers raised slogans in support of their demand and threatened to intensify struggle if justice is denied to them.
Carrying banners and raising slogans, they also took out a march before holding demonstration near the Press Club Jammu. The protesters include a number of female teachers.
Addressing the protesting teachers, Balwinder Singh Pawar announced that that the Association was going to hold protest demonstrations at district level. “We had suspended our 43-day long chain hunger strike on the assurance of Education Minister who did not fulfill his promise thus forcing us to again resort to agitational path,” he said  and appealed the Chief Minister to look into the ‘most genuine’ demand of the temporary teachers.
Mr Pawar also urged all the temporary teachers to remain united for a do or die struggle.
Others, who addressed the protest demonstration, included Bhopinder Choudhary, who alleged that the State Government was playing with the future of educated youth. “We may resort to extreme step if our demand is not accepted and the Government would be responsible for the same,” he warned.
