Kichloo demands assessment of damages

KISHTWAR, Aug 24: Former MoS Home and MLC Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo today rued the functioning of State Government over its failure in providing a succour to the people of the District who are facing problems on account of shortage of ration in Government depots besides have suffered heavy losses due to natural calamities.
Kichloo who conducted tour of various areas of Paddar and Nagsini and assessed the losses suffered by public on account of their property, roads, crops, houses and other infrastructure.
The people informed Kichloo that the whole area of Paddar and Nagsini suffered from drought due to no rains on time and unprecedented weather conditions.
After interacting with people and deputations, Kichloo demanded announcement of six month free ration for the people of Kishtwar district as provided by previous Government. He also demanded for constitution of teams of revenue officials for on the spot assessment of damages suffered by the people of Kishtwar district on account of crops, orchards, homes and agricultural land.
He further said that Government should immediately need to draw a comprehensive plan for immediate restoration as well as upgradation of poor road infrastructure in the district.
