Bovine smuggling bid foiled

UDHAMPUR, Aug 24: Foiling an attempt of bovine smuggling, Udhampur Police today rescued two animals and arrested the accused person from Jakhani area.
Reports said that acting on specific information, a Police party from Police Station Udhampur laid a naka on the National Highway near Jakhani and intercepted a Tavera car. During thorough search of the car, two bovine animals were found brutally packed inside the vehicle. Police rescued the animals and arrested the driver, who was identified as Mohammad Alam of Soura Kashmir.
Police also seized the vehicle and registered a case in this connection at Udhampur Police Station.
