JAMMU, Aug 24: Minister for CAPD and Tribal Affairs Ch. Zulfkar Ali laid the foundation stone of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution office complex at Ware House here today.
The project is being executed by J&K Housing Board at an estimated cost of Rs. 19.23 crore.
Director CAPD Jammu, G.S. Chib besides officers of the department were present on the occasion.
In his address, the Minister said that with the completion of this ambitious project the Directorate Office would be outfitted with all modern infrastructural facilities. He said that the building would accommodate stores, mills, office chambers, a conference hall and will provide good and hygienic atmosphere for storage of food grains.
Ch. Zulfkar said that Government is mulling establishing a multiplex with facilities like shopping mall, gymnasium, restaurants etc at Ware House.
The Minister urged the officers and officials of the department to work with dedication and devotion to rebuild faith of the people in the department.
He stressed that ePDS and digitalization process underway would help to improve the functioning of the department and make it a self reliant and profitable unit besides providing better services to the people at their doorsteps.
