JAMMU, Aug 26: MLA Jammu East, Rajesh Gupta, today inaugurated “Suraksha Bandhan Yojna” here at Government College for Women, Parade.
There was a huge participation of the girl students in the mega project launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The programme envisages the mobilization of large segment of population in providing them a security cover in the event of any unforeseen circumstance and is one of the various women oriented schemes launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi like Beti Bachao Beti Padao, Sukanya Yojna, Jan Dhan Yojna, Atal Beema Yojna and Atal Pension Yojna.
On the occasion, about 1000 girls were provided insurance cover on the spot.
Rajesh Gupta while speaking on the occasion said that he is very happy that the young girls of the college have been provided insurance cover at a young age and this would also inculcate in them a sense of financial proprietary and responsibility.
With the launch of these financial schemes, the Prime Minister of India has created a sense of belonging among vast section of the population who were hitherto kept out of the ambit of financial system of the country.
The Principal of the college Renu Goswami briefed the students on the occasion. Mahila Morcha president, Purnima Sharma, State secretary, Anuradha Charak and Anju Dogra also participated in the function.
The students also asked the management and MLA Rajesh Gupta for organizing more such programmes in the future that would enable the girls to become financially aware and independent in their life.
The prominent who accompanied MLA Rajesh Gupta include Ashwani, Prof Sham, Surinder Pargal, Ramesh, Pradeep, PC Gupta, Girdhari Lal, Rajeev Bhardwaj, Sunny Sehgal, Vijay, Dhan Saroop and Rajinder Gupta.
