UDHAMPUR, Aug 26: Sarpanchs of Mada, Childi and Kither Panchayats along with locals held a strong protest demonstration outside the PMGSY office, here today.
The protest was organized under the leadership of Jai Kumar Sarpanch Mada Panchyat, Khem Raj Sarpanch Kitther Panchayat and Subash Kumar Sarpanch Childi Panchayat. The protesting people raised slogans against PMGSY authorities and alleged discrimination with the people of these three Panchayats.
Sarpanchs disclosed that a 12- kms long road from Kud Madda to Patla was sanctioned in the year 2005 under PMGSY and the earthwork (cutting) of this road was initiated in the same year but later on the construction work was stopped for the reasons best known to the authorities concerned. Similarly, a seventeen kilometer road from Guzzar to Childi was sanctioned in the year 2008 and the earthwork was initiated in the same year but later on construction of the road was stopped without any reason, they added and also alleged that the compensation of land to the land owners was also not disbursed till date.
