SRTC awards outstanding employees

JAMMU, Aug 21: With a view to boost morale of employees of State Road Transport Corporation, the organization under Award Scheme, which has been recently introduced, today awarded 12 employees with gold and silver medals besides cash prize of Rs 5000 and Rs 3000 each with citation certificates at Rail Head Complex here.
The awards were presented by Managing Director JKSRTC, J S Tandon. Senior officers of JKSRTC besides other staff members were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Managing Director JKSRTC apprised that these employees were awarded for their exceptional contribution towards the functioning of the Corporation. He informed that similar function was also held in Srinagar last week in which various employees of Corporation were honoured.
He said that due to the strenuous efforts of the employees of the JKSRTC, the Corporation is able to clear all pending liabilities like gratuity, leave salary and undeposited provident fund of retired employees since 2002 and payment of 6th Pay Commission dues etc.
The MD asked the employees of JKSRTC to work hard with the same spirit and dedication to further raise the scale of profit, adding that the financial self sufficiency would also be beneficial for the employees.
He called for adopting innovative ideas so that additional services would be provided to JKSRTC employees and their families. He hoped that the employees of JKSRTC will work with utmost zeal, commitment and dedication to make JKSRTC a profitable unit.
In another landmark achievement, the Driving Training Institute at Rail Head Complex Jammu which was imparting training for light motor vehicles has now decided to impart training for heavy goods vehicles as well.
