GCW celebrates Consumer Rights Day

JAMMU, Aug 28: Government College for Women (GCW) Jammu celebrated Consumer Rights Day at it college premises, today.
Surinder Choudhary, Member Legislative Council was the chief guest on the occasion. D R Danish, president, Consumer Protection Organisation  welcomed the guest and while addressing exhorted the audience especially students to be vigilant about their rights and responsibilities as consumer.
A K Koul, general secretary,  Consumer Welfare Association while speaking urged the students to look for quality, while  purchasing prefer packaged items only and must ensure the date of packing and expiry.
Yash Pal Gupta, president, Chamber of Traders Federation spoke about the menace of adulteration and the role of his orgainsation in curving this from the eatables being sold especially in Jammu province.
Sanjeev Gupta, Assistant Controller Food also spoke on the occasion and educated the students about their rights.
Athar Amin, Assistant Director CA&PD asked the gatherings to contact the department of CAPD in case of any complaint and see the result as the team of his department is always ready to serve the public.
