POONCH, Aug 28: The police arrested three persons including two drivers of Tempo travelers for kidnapping and gang rape of young girl hailing from Surankote area of district Poonch.
All the three were nabbed from different locations in Jammu area last night. They are identified as Shavaiz Iqbal, son of Nissar Hussain, resident of locality near degree College Rajouri and driver of Tempo Traveler JK-11A/4179, Shakeel Ahmed alias Chhotu, son of Suleman, resident of Kalal Kas (Rajouri) and driver of Tempo No. JK11A/ 3195 and Zaffar Iqbal, son of Mohd Aslam, resident of Fatehpur Rajouri. Zafar is engineer by profession and is working with a private construction company.
One Mohd Sadiq lodged report in Surankote police station on July 27 that his young daughter, Amina ( name changed) was missing. During investigation, the police came to know that the girl has been kidnapped by three persons in vehicle No. JK-11/4179 from Samote area. A SIT was constituted by SDPO Surankote to solve the case.
On August 23, the police party at Bafliaz intercepted this vehicle at naka and Zafar managed to escape. He was moving towards Srinagar with the girl. The girl narrated the whole story to police and later police after conducting raids nabbed all the three from Jammu area.
The girl alleged that all the three kept her in illegal confinement at different places in Jammu and other areas and committed rape on her. The police sent the girl for medical examination and then handed over to the parents. A case FIR No. 179/2015 under Sections 366, 376, 343 RPC was registered against the accused persons. They are now cooling their heels in the police lock up.
