JAMMU, Aug 28: In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Rufi Khan and others seeking effective prosecution of criminal trials, Division Bench of State High Court comprising Justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar and Justice BS Walia today granted four weeks time to the Government for framing of guidelines for appointment of Public Prosecutors.
After hearing both the sides, the DB observed, “as per the copy of Government order placed on record, sanction has been accorded to the constitution of committee for framing guidelines for the appointment of Public Prosecutor/ Additional Public Prosecutor/ Special Public Prosecutors. The chairman of the committee is Advocate General of the State”.
After going through the copy of Govt order, Division Bench granted four weeks time to the committee to frame guidelines for appointment of Public Prosecutor/ Additional Public Prosecutor/ Special Public Prosecutors and submit the same for consideration of the court.
