Jammu, Aug 28:  To commemorate the victory of 1965 Indo-Pak war Golden Jubilee the ‘Raghuparatap’ battalion organised a function in Sunjuwan Military Station by the Shivalik Brigade.
During the function the weapons and modern equipment were displayed and a presentation on 1965 Indo-Pak War was screened. The function refreshed the memories of 1965 Indo-Pak Victory, acknowledged the sacrifice of the 1965 War Veterans and also motivated the young children about the glorious history of the Indian Army.
During the function the Veterans, Col Virendra Kumar Sahai (Retired), Vir Chakra winner of 1965 War for Laleali Operation in Akhnoor sector and Col Prabhu Singh (Retired), Vir Chakra winner of 1965 War for Asal Uttar Operation in Khemkaran Sector were delighted to meet and talk to the school children. At the same time the school children were inspired from their experience and stories. The school children showed interest and enthusiasm towards the War history, weapons and equipment display.
1965 Indo-Pak War is an important milestone in the history of Indian Army. 50 years back the Indian Army had achieved a decisive victory over Pakistan. In Jammu sector, the Indian Army captured significant area into Pak. In this war Indian Army personnel were awarded two Param Vir Chakra, 33 Maha Vir Chakra & 131 Vir Chakra for conspicuous valour and courage displayed by them.
