JAMMU, Aug 28:  After Congress vanquished in the last election, the nation has got rid of corruption and era of development has started in the entire country with the launching of countless welfare schemes and development projects by the Union Government led by Narendera Modi.
This was stated by BJP Mahila Morcha National President Vijaya Rahatkar, while addressing Mahila Sammelan here today.
BJP State president & MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, Mahila Morcha National Vice-Presidents Rashim Sood and Asha Jaiswal, Morcha State president Purnima Sharma, MoS Priya Sethi, National secretaries Yogita Singh and Pooja Kapil, Morcha State prabhari Suresh Jamwal, State secretary Mamta Singh, Chandigarh State President Sunita Dhawan, Morcha National Executive Member Sheela Handoo were on the dais.
Vijaya Rahatkar, said that the BJP government under Narendra Modi has been launching one scheme after the other with the sole motive to make women economically self reliant and enable them to contribute to the nation building.
She said that similarly in Party’s organizational setup 33 per cent reservation has been granted to women.
She also enumerated a number of schemes  launched exclusively for women adding that “Pradhan Mantri Bima Suraksha Yojana” on the occasion of ‘Raksha Bandhan’ is indeed a step towards economical empowerment of the women and the Morcha has set a target of 5 crore women to be covered under it.
Jugal Kishore Sharma, while addressing the Sammelan, said that since the day Narendra Modi took over as Prime Minister, India’s prestige increased in comity of nations. He said many welfare schemes were undertaken by the Government led by him for people in general and women folk in particular.
Minister of State Priya Sethi, while speaking said one after other schemes are being launched by Narendra  Modi led NDA Government for development of the country and welfare of workers and on the same pattern the PDP-BJP Government has shown a commitment to take up developmental projects and public welfare schemes in hand in the State.
Mahila Morcha State President Purnima Sharma said that Prime Minister has taken first step towards empowerment of women by launching “Pradhan Mantri Bima Suraksha Yojana” in which the brothers are gifting their sisters the insurance policies as Raksha sutra gifts and it is indeed an imaginative initiative. She said that in J&K the Mahila Morcha activists are reaching the womenfolk with the schemes of insurance and is receiving overwhelming response.
Vijaya Rahatkar also tied Rakhis to Jugal Kishore Sharma, Ashok Kaul and other leaders of the party.
Earlier, in the morning, Vijaya Rahatkar, alongwith Mahila Morcha national and State leaders visited Air Force Station, wherein they tied rakhis to the Air Force men.
Mahila Morcha State general secretary Anuradha Charak conducted the proceedings of the sammelan.
