Deva reviews arrangements for Preliminary Exam

SRINAGAR, Aug 28:  The arrangements for conduct of Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination, scheduled to be held on August 30, were reviewed today in a meeting chaired by Chairman, J&K Public Service Commission, Latief-u-Zaman Deva with the District Civil and Police administration.
There are 20180 candidates registered for 26 centres with 11 in Srinagar and 15 in Jammu and examination will be held in 2 sessions. The first session will be from 10.00 a.m to 12.00 noon and the second session from 2.00 p.m to 4.00 p.m.
The Deputy Inspector General of Police, Srinagar Range apprised the Chairman about the arrangements made in the matter of deployment of security personnel for security of examination centres/ venues, frisking of candidates and parking of vehicles for smooth conduct of the Examination.
The Deputy Commissioner informed that uninterrupted electricity, water supply and sanitation through Srinagar Municipal Corporation will be ensured and said that in case of any law and order situation, the Admit Cards issued to the candidates would be treated as curfew passes and duty Magistrates to be appointed by him would coordinate with Observers/ Police/ Security Officers and other civilian authorities.
The District Health Officer was asked to keep at least two mobile Ambulances, one exclusively for University of Kashmir and another at M.A. Road near S.P.College Srinagar available in case of emergency.
Members, JKPSC, Lal Chand, Prof(Dr) Posh Charak, Suresh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Srinagar Range), Sr Supdt of Police Traffic, Supdt of Police Security, Addl. Supdt of Police PCR, Representatives of CMO Srinagar/ Director Garages and 13 Observers appointed by the Government were present in the meeting.
A similar meeting was held at Jammu under the chairmanship of Member J&K Public Service Commission Tashi Dorjee.
