KATHUA, Aug 31: The irate students of Government Degree College Billawar today held a protest and blocked the Dhar road at Phenter for one hour against the failure of Government in appointing subject lecturers in the College on the basis of academic arrangements.
The protestors shouting slogans against the Government said that the career of the students has been put at stake due to the callousness of the Education Department which is delaying the process of appointing lecturers in the college.
The students warned to launch agitation in case the problem was not settled at an earliest. They said the authorities are paying a deaf ear to the demand deliberately and the student community will no longer tolerate the same.
However the road blockade was later lifted on the intervention of the administration who assured the agitating students that they will take up the issue with the Government.
