JAMMU, Aug 31: Two youth including a girl today made abortive attempt on their lives at their respective residences in city outskirts.
According to a police spokesperson, a young girl (20) daughter of Jagdish Raj of Raipur-Satwari, falling in the limits of police station Satwari this morning tried to end her life by hanging self with the hook of the ceiling fan at her residence following a minor quarrel with her mother.
However, the family members noticed her timely while taking such extreme step and shifted her to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where her condition is stated to be stable.
Meanwhile, a 23-year-old boy identified as Deepak Kumar son of Somi Ram, a resident of Nagrota, also made an abortive attempt on his life by consuming some poisonous substance at his residence following which he was shifted to GMCH, where his condition was stated to be stable till the last reports came in.
In both cases, the concerned police have taken cognizance.
