Jugal meets Suresh Prabhu, demands expansion of Jammu Railway Station

JAMMU, Sept 2: BJP State President and Member of Parliament Jugal Kishore Sharma called upon  Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu and apprised him about the issues related to Railways in Jammu.
In his meeting with Railway Minister, Jugal demanded early expansion of Jammu Railway Station. He mentioned that Railway Station was functional in 1974 and at that time it had three platform and 5 trains were arrived and demanded that three more platform should be made immediately keeping in view of the importance of Jammu Railway Station. He also demanded modernization of Railway Station.
He also requested for early start of work of Rajouri-Poonch rail line which has been approved as a National Project earlier. Jugal also apprised the Railway Minister that two DMU have been started between Jammu and Udhampur but presently only one DMU is plying between Jammu and Udhampur and people are facing problems. He also demanded stoppage point between Jammu to Udhampur bound trains.
Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu gave patience hearing to MP Jugal Kishore Sharma and said that issues will be taken up on priority bases as Jammu Railway Station has great importance as far as Jammu and Kashmir is concern. He added that expansion of Jammu Railway Station should be taken up. He mentioned that for stoppage point between Jammu and Udhampur, file has already been moved  and soon the route will have stoppage  points.
