JAMMU, Sept 2: The people held strong protest against the PDD authorities after a 6-year-old boy was electrocuted in Mandi area of district Poonch this morning.
A police official said that the boy namely Rizwan Ahmed, son of Mohd Parvez, resident of Palera Kamlian village in Mandi was playing in the field near his house. Suddenly, a live electricity cable fell down near a pole and the boy got trapped. He received severe electric shocks and burns and was rushed to SDH Mandi by family where doctors declared him as dead.
The angry villagers and family members then came out on the road along with boy’s body and started protest demonstration against the PDD authorities. They also lodged an FIR against the field PDD staff members of the area with the Mandi Police. Later, Tehsildar Mandi and SHO reached there and assured action in this regard. The agitating people then lifted dharna from the road.
