Udhampur, Sept 7: A seminar on ‘Make in India-Facilitating Boots on Ground’ was conducted at HQ Northern Command Udhampur today.
The seminar was organised with the aim of providing a perspective for the domestic Industry on the technology and equipment needs of the Indian Army to meet the aspirations of troops deployed in field.
The seminar was inaugurated by Lt Gen DS Hooda, GOC-In-C Northern Command. The Northern Army Commander emphasized the need for close partnership and synergy in the efforts of the public and private sectors alongwith the Army to merge contemporary technologies with tactical requirement of combat units.
The discussions in the Seminar include topics titled ‘Operational Perspective to Infusion of Technology in Operational Areas,’ Make in India in Defence Sector-the PSU perspective etc.
Lt Gen NPS Hira, Chief of Staff, HQ Northern Command concluded the proceedings and expressed that emerging policy frame work, in harmony with the Make in India initiative, shall facilitate the operationally deployed units on our Northern Borders.
