JAMMU, Sept 8: Forest Department sealed illegal saw mill, which was functioning without valid licence at Firdosabad, Sunjwan.
An official spokesman said that, a Forest Department team dismantled illegal saw mill functioning without valid licence in the name and style of M/s RK Timber owned by Showkat Ali, son of Haji Mohammad Ali at Firdosabad, Sunjwan.
The owner alongwith his supporters resisted the action by the Forest Department.
Dr VS Senthil Kumar, DFO Jammu and BM Sharma, Conservator of Forest, East Circle, Jammu also reached the spot and handled the situation from turning worse.
The saw mill was sealed in presence of Conservator of Forest, East Circle, Divisional Forest Officer, Jammu, Duty Magistrate, SDPO East Mohammad Rafiq Manhas, SHO Trikuta Nagar Inspector Naveen Angral and Incharge Police Post Bathindi.
Divisional Forest Officer Jammu has directed all the field staff of Jammu Forest Division to dismantle and seal all the illegal saw mills which are functioning without valid licence and in gross violation of orders by Supreme Court.
