JAMMU, Sept 8: Provincial Power Employees Union (PPEU) held a protest and warned to adopt agitational path if their demands are not redressed at the earliest.
The protest demonstration was led by Chairman of the Union Shakti Gupta, Sanjeev Bali, working president, Ajaz Qazmi, general secretary, Ram Lal, vice president, Manjeet Singh, Rajeev Sharma, Tajinder Dutta, Subash Sharma, Kuldeep Kumar, Rasool and Kamodh Kumar, district Jammu leaders were also present.
The protestors condemned the steps taken by the Government regarding allotting the job of collection of revenue realization, reading from meters, distributing the monthly bills to the consumers’ alongwith the job of maintenance of feeders from the self help groups/private firms.
They demanded release of two and half day salary in the respect of non-gazetted staff of all categories, regularization of casual, daily rated and need basis workers who have been completed seven years service after the engagement form March 1994 to till date as per the Cabinet decision, removal of pay anomalies of clerical cadres along with executive cadres counterpart pay scale holders as agreed by the Government, issuance of promotion order under promotion from Junior Assistant to Senior Assistant those who have cleared the DPC with effect from March 2015 and awaiting for the promotion order since long.
They also demanded release of proper norms for transfer policy as per Government orders issued from time to time as per employees designation and cadre, free electricity to the staff of PDD on the analogy being adopted in the P&T Department of Central Government, Railways besides SRTC of J&K State as well, promotion of technical qualified field staff on the basis of 50:50 from ITI and Non ITI cadre as recommended by Convenor, DPC, Jammu.
“Implementation of SRO 59 in Jammu Province as per the Court directions and DPC of non-gazetted employees after every six month as per Government standing orders”, the protestors demanded.
They warned to adopt agitational path if their demands are not redressed at the earliest in consultation with the members of the union.
