JAMMU, Sept 8: To protest against the power failure in the area, the newly constituted Youth Committee of Bishnah held a protest demonstration in the town and locked the Power Station for over two hours.
The protestors raising slogans against the PDD authorities and the Government said that the people were facing acute power cuts and low voltage and the authorities are not taking any interest in improving the same despite the repeated pleas to the officers of PDD.
The protestors said that even on the days of holy festivals of Janamashtami and Raksha Bandan there was no power supply in the area forcing the people to come to streets.
The protestors only unlocked the power station and dispersed after the Tehsildar Bishanah and SHO Bishnah reached the spot assured them that they will take up the issue with authorities of PDD and the power supply will be improved in the area.
