SRINAGAR, Sept 11: Militants today snatched rifle from a policeman guarding district court in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
Around 12.15 pm today, three men sprayed chilly powder at a police security guard posted at the district court Kulgam before fleeing with his INSAS rifle.
The constable identified as Mohammad Zahid (Belt no 645/KGM) suffered bruises when he offered resistance to foil the attempt. However, the three men overpowered him and fled with his rifle.
The Special Operations Group (SOG) of police conducted a series of raids across the district to nab the rifle snatchers. Police conducted surprise checks at several places in search of the weapon snatchers.
