JAMMU, Sept 12: Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) staged musical play “Doli” in collaboration with Unison Cultural Troupe, Sangam Tru Art Production and ESRM.
The programme was inaugurated by the chief guest VK Magotra, Former Regional Director, Directorate of Field Publicity, Government of India, Dr Anju Dogra, Health Department, J&K Government, Vinod Dogra, Chief Service Engineer Excide and Romesh Chander, event director.
Speaking on the occasion, Magotra urged the artists and cultural organizations to contribute in enriching the cultural heritage of the country and inspire the younger generation to follow the footprints of their elders in preserving the composite culture of the Nation.
The play written, produced and directed by ML Dogra, Chairman, BLSKS reflected the agony of two conservative families who are bent upon getting their daughter and son married at tender age, ignoring the advice of intellectuals of the society. The marriage turns into a disaster making the life of both bride and groom miserable. Even bride ends her life owing to pangs of pregnancy at childhood after delivery of a dead baby. The cries of baby girl in womb of the mother caution all of us in the society “Don’t kill me. I will be your helping hand in old age”. The theme of the musical play was “Beti Bachao-Beti Padao”.
The participants, who performed in the play were Usha Handoo, KK Joshi, MC Kotwal, Raju Bajgal, Rajat Verma, Sunil Kumar, Mohammad Afroz Alam, Dhruv Pandit, Aryan Verma, Surinder Verma, Shaksham Khajuria, Rajni Gupta, Neelam Gandotra, Hem Raj, Kamli Devi, Shivani Disgotra, Bhumika Chib, Neelam Chib, Chahat Chadha, Deepak Mehra, Kuldeep Raj, Deevam Jandiyal, Rakshit Sharma, Darsh, L-Danika, Rajveer Sharma, Abhyud Sharma, Renu Saproo, Nisha Chib, Arnav Chib, Abhyudaya Sharma, Rahul Wanchoo, Rajveer, Vandana Gupta, Anantika Sharma, Sumeeta Bhat, Shan Khan and, Ayush Bhat.
In the end, Deepak Kumar presented vote of thanks.
