PDP leader meets NYC employees

Srinagar, Sept 13:  A youth Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader today met the agitating National Youth Corps (NYC) employees who are on hunger strike.
Hundreds of NYC employees are camping in city’s Pratap Park from the beginning of this month and are demanding the implementation of 2014 Cabinet order vis-à-vis their inclusion in different Government Departments.
The ruling PDP youth leader and Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Rafiabad Yawar Mir today met the NYC employees at the protest venue. The PDP MLA, sources said, assured his support to the NYC employees and supported their demand.
The employees, however, conveyed to the PDP leader that “unless and until” Government gives them written assurance about the implementation of Cabinet order, they won’t end their protest.
Confirming the meet, Mir told Excelsior that he met the NYC employees in personal capacity and not as Government emissary. “I have been closely attached with these people from the very beginning and I support their demand. I went there not as a politician but as their friend,’ he said.
