JAMMU, Sept 13: One person was killed and one injured in two separate road mishaps in city outskirts.
The first accident occurred late last night at Gumpul in Purkhoo area of city outskirts when a speeding mini-bus bearing registration number JK02AM-7147 hit a scooter bearing registration number JK02AP-3913 coming from opposite side and killed its rider namely Ranjeet Kumar (34) son of Isher Chand of Gari Ladore, on the spot.
On getting information, flying squad of Domana police reached the spot and shifted the body of the deceased to mortuary room of Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where after conducting postmortem, the body of the deceased was today handed over to his legal heirs for last rites.
A case in this connection has been registered against the accused mini-bus driver, who fled from the spot leaving behind the vehicle.
Another accident happened today at main stop Gandhi Nagar where a man was injured in the collision of a bike and a car. The injured identified as Raj Kumar (49) son of Gian Chand of Rehan, Basholi in Kathua district, was immediately shifted here at GMCH for treatment. The concerned police has taken cognizance of the matter.
