JAMMU, Sept 15: Dr. Mithila Verma, D/o Jawahar Lal Verma, Village Phinter, Billawar, has been awarded K.R. Gupta award – 2015 by Geological Society of India, Bangalore for her contribution in the field of Earth Sciences on September 8, 2015.
Dr. Verma is working as Scientist in Ministry of Earth Sciences, New Delhi. She obtained her Ph.D degree in Geology from the University of Jammu in 2005. She was awarded University Gold Medal and Dr. N. Dasarathi Memorial Gold Medal in 2002. She has been conferred with Certificate of Merit Award in 2014 by Ministry of Earth Sciences, (ESS) for her outstanding contribution initiation of Active Fault mapping in India.
Dr. Verma has been actively involved in Geosciences related studies since 2006.
