MENDHAR, Sept 16: The police today registered an FIR against an Army jawan for rape attempt on a housewife at village Chhatral in Mendhar.
Police sources said that Sepoy Muneer Hussain of 13 JAKLI, son of Khadam Hussain, resident of Chhatral who had come to his home on leave few days back, forcibly entered the house of one Mohd Zaid and tried to commit sexual assault his young wife when she was all alone at home last evening. She raised alarm and the accused then fled from there. Today, the family lodged an FIR No. 122/ 2015 with the Mendhar police. The SDPO said that manhunt for the absconding jawan has been started.
