JAMMU, Aug 23: Police today recovered a country made pistol and five live cartridges from the house of a notorious criminal Balwinder Singh alias Bindu at Vijay Nagar, Talab Tillo, which had been hidden there by gangster Mohitesh Sharma alias Monu to kill one of their rival.
Police said a team of City police raided that house of Balwinder Singh alias Bindu son of Shamsher Singh at Vijay Nagar, Talab Tillo after developing an information that Mohitesh had kept pistol and live cartridges in the house of his associate to kill their rival after getting an opportunity.
Police recovered one country made pistol and five live cartridges from the house of Bindu.
A day before police had arrested three gangsters including Munna and Bindu and recovered pistol, cartridges and sharp-edged weapons from their possession.
A case against the accused has been registered at City police station under various provisions of law.
Recoveries were made by police parties headed by SDPO City Kulbir Honda and SHO City Inspector Bishnesh Kumar under the supervision of SSP Jammu Prabhat Singh and SP City (North) Jatinder Singh Johar.
