Beerwah, Sept 19: National Conference Working President and MLA Beerwah Omar Abdullah said today that the extent of failures of the PDP-BJP Government was shocking as there was absolutely  no sign of basic governance in the State apart from the self-validated world of photo-shoots and press statements.
The NC Working President continued with his review and inspection of the functioning of Primary Health Centers (PHCs) and Hospitals in Beerwah Constituency for the second day today and further released an additional amount of Rs 15.5 lakh for immediate equipment, medicine and repair needs of Health Department installations in Beerwah.
Political Secretary to Working President, Tanvir Sadiq, NC leader Professor Abdul Majeed Matoo, Professor Abdul Gani Khan and Mirwaiz Central Kashmir, Mirwaiz Molvi Latifullah accompanied the NC Working President during his tour of the constituency today.
The NC Working President and MLA Beerwah announced the release of Rs six lakh for BMO Magam, Khaag for the purchase of a CBC analyzer and vital repairs the labour room. For Primary Health Center (PHC) Poshkar, he announced the release of  Rs 3.5 lakh for the purchase of an ambulance so that patients don’t have to suffer for lack of transportation in times of emergency. He also released an amount of Rs six lakh for BMO Beerwah for the purchase of vital diagnostic equipment as per the requirements of the people.
“During the tenure of the previous Government, the health sector was treated as a priority. We not only constructed new Primary Health Centers and Sub-District Hospitals across the length and breadth of this State but we also ensured that existing Government Hospitals are upgraded with the latest infrastructure and facilities. Sadly, the new Government has failed to even restock and replenish vital supplies and equipment in our hospitals and health centers after the devastation caused by the floods in September”, he said, adding healthcare is a right of the people and it seems the present Government wants to deprive people of this right”.
The NC Working President said the scale and extent of failure of the PDP-BJP Government could be gauged by the fact that Government hospitals are without stethoscopes, diagnostic equipment, ambulances and delivery sets.
