Educationist back to College for new learning at University of Oxford

JAMMU, Sept 19:  Council for Education & Leadership recently hosted a Leadership Programme for Indian education leaders at the University of Oxford by the Department of Continuing Education.
Council for Education & Leadership is a research institute commissioned by SkillTree Knowledge Consortium, an international higher education advisory & strategy firm.
SkillTree Knowledge Consortium selected 20 member delegates from Pan India for this course. The delegates included founders, trustees and directors of private universities and colleges from 20 states.
Prashant Gupta, Executive Director Sharda University, was one of the selected delegates to attend the leadership programme at the University of Oxford. On completing the programme, he said, “these types of programmes help in understanding case study of university growth development and how to build system and processes aliened to build a good cultural in an organisation.
The Leadership Programme for Education Professionals was first initiative to address the need of leadership skills, 21st century insights and art of managing and creating great universities and colleges. The programme content was focused on best practices adoption from 900 years of rich history of Oxford, current challenges met by the education entrepreneurs, future of higher education in India, its’ development and growth and understanding the competencies on creating and sustaining a world class college and university.
The programme started on of August 24, 2015 with lecture series by noted professors from various colleges at University of Oxford. Prof David Palfreyman, Bursar at New College and Professor Angus Hawkins led the programme with best of case studies and debates.
This initiative is very common in China and other developing nations, where education leaders constantly participate on continuing education programme in various developed economy universities to learn and adopt the best global practices. This programme has helped the delegates to look into the future of higher education in India.
