JAMMU, Sept 19: Satwari police arrested an alcoholic son for murdering his mother.
As per police sources, on July 15, 2015, an information was received by police station Satwari that a lady identified as Rani, wife of late Latief Mohammad, a resident of Narwal Pain has been murdered.
After getting information, police rushed to the spot and shifted the body to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where after conducting autopsy, the body was handed over to family members for last rites.
In the postmortem report, several injury marks were reported including in the head.
A case under FIR Number 200/15 under Section 302 RPC was registered at Satwari police station and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, police came to know that the alcoholic son of the lady identified as Mohammad Altaf alias Kali used to force her mother to consume liquor and then beat her mercilessly.
On the fateful day, Mohammad Altaf forced her mother to consume liquor and later started beating her mercilessly, due to which she received serious head injury and internal organ rupture, as a result she died on the spot.
After collecting all the information, police team conducted raids in various areas and finally arrested the son of the deceased lady.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by SHO Satwari police station Inspector Manjeet Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Gandhi Nagar Sachin Gupta, SP South Udhay Bhaskar Billa and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
