Hunger strike for OROP by Para Military Force Welfare Association enters 7th day

JAMMU, Sept 19: The ongoing relay hunger strike by the members of All J&K Central, Para Military Force Welfare Association for One Rank One Pension, entered into seventh day today.
The Association members, including BSF, CRPF, ITBP, CISF, SSB, Assam Rifles, Veer Naris and their dependents, assembled at the venue of relay hunger strike and raised slogans in support of their demand of OROP, MSP and Grade Pay to them at par with Armymen.
The Association strongly criticized the Central Government for ignoring the Central forces while announcing OROP for the Army only. “We hold our  elder brethren (Military) in high esteem with respect being the sons of same soil and defending our motherland but there should be no discrimination as we have served the nation equally, speakers said.
There is not a single day that did not give a dead body to the Paramilitary family. Despite serving under such harsh conditions, the Government of India is dividing the sons of soil by refusing them OROP as granted to Army, they added
Those who spoke on the occasion, included Jagdish Singh Manhas, Bodh Raj Dogra, Mohd Mazid, Chaman Lal, Mani Ram, S L Dogra, Thoru Ram, Ashok Kumar and others.
