SAMBA, Sept 20: Maharaja Hari Singh’s 121st birthday was celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervor here today in Samba.
In this connection, Amar Kshatriya Rajput Sabha organized a grand function at Veer Bhoomi Park. On the occasion Shamsher Singh Manhas – Member of Parliament (MP) was the Chief Guest, while Devender Singh Rana, senior National Conference (NC) leader and MLA Nagrota, Yuvraj Vikramaditya Singh, People’s Democratict Democ-ratic Party (PDP) leader and MLC, Kumar Narayan Singh, president, Shri Amar Kshatriya Rajput Sabha, were the guests of honour.
The programme started by garlanding the Statute of Maharaja by the chief guest and other members. Various speakers explained the contribution of Maharaja in the field of education, women empowerment and about his nationalistic vision.
Shamsher Singh Manhas, said, “the Maharaja Hari Singh was the true example of secularism and person with true human heart who never distinguished between the people of any religion or caste.” He brought many reforms and justice to all. He was a great visionary and a good administrator, he added.
Devender Singh Rana and Yuvraj Vikramaditya in their address also highlighted the working of Maharaja Hari Singh for the welfare of the public and advised to follow the footsteps for the welfare of the public.
Prominent others who spoke on the occasion while paying tributes to the Maharaja were Kumar Narayan Singh, Davender Manyal, MLA, Samba, Vijay Singh Sambyal, DIG (retd) and others.
