It is collective responsibility of all to promote peace: Puri Ji

JAMMU, Sept 20: Noted religious personality Swami Hari Chaitnya Puri ji Maharaj has said that it is collective responsibility of all the countrymen irrespective of caste, religion and sect to promote peace, brotherhood and communal harmony in the country.
Swami ji, who is on a week-long visit to the J&K State told the media-persons here that not only India but entire world is passing through a crucial period. Many nations are facing threat of communal tension, terrorism, blood-shed and internal and external war. He said unfortunately, India which was once a torch bearer of promoting peace and communal harmony is also facing terrorism and some internal crisis. The people or groups promoting communal tension, instability and blood-shed for their vested interests should abstain from such acts of disintegrating this great nation as it is the ultimate home of us all.
Such people rising above their narrow thinking and vested interests, should come forward to spread the message of peace, love and harmony, making this country as more stronger. He said It is the collective responsibility of all the people, groups or parties to promote peace and communal harmony and not create hatred among the people of different religions and sects. India will again emerge as world leader in promoting peace and strongest nation with the strength of all the 125 crore Indians.
Referring to the issue of politics on beef, the spiritual leader said that our Prophets/ Gods like Shri Krishan and Shri Ram have worshiped the cow and the generations and generations since then are doing the same from thousands of years. Girls and cow are worshiped in the Hindu religion. But slaughtering of the cow and killing of baby girls in the womb of the mother are most heinous crimes being committed in our society. He said this practice should be completely abolished and strong laws are needed to be enacted.
Swami ji appealed the leaders of various political parties and social and religious organizations not to politicize such sensitive issues connected with beef or cow slaughtering, display maturity and wisdom and respect the sentiments of the people from all the religions. He also appealed the Government of India and State Government to take appropriate measures to protect cow and fix severest punishment for people indulging in such heinous crime.
