JAMMU, Sept 20: A 26-year-old youth allegedly committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at his residence in RS Pura while another youth made and abortive attempt on his life by same modus operandi.
According to a police spokesperson, the youth identified as Ravi Kumar son of Thoru Ram, a resident of RS Pura yesterday consumed some poisonous substance following which he was referred to a nearby Government hospital.
Later, in view of his serious condition, he was referred to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where he expired this morning.
After conducting postmortem, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites.
Meanwhile, another youth identified as Ujwal Pardhan (26) today consumed some poisonous substance at his residence. He is undergoing treatment at GMCH, where his condition was stated to be stable.
In both cases, the concerned police have taken cognizance of the matter.
