UDHAMPUR, Sept 22:Two youth attempted to gang rape a girl in far flung area of Panchari of Udhampur district, here today.
As per the complaint, lodged by father of the victim girl, his daughter had gone to the field for cutting maize where the accused tried to gang rape her. As victim raised an alarm, her father and other people rushed to the spot following which the accused fled the scene.
Police has identified the accused as Raju and Prabhu. They were accompanied by their third associate Deepu, who helped them to flee the spot by sounding alert that people were approaching the scene.
On complaint of the victim’s father, Police has registered the case and launched a hunt to nab the accused.
