Cong cautions people against communal, divisive forces

Jammu, Sept 23:  Blaming the ruling coalition partners of pushing the State in the worst kind of atmosphere of conflict and controversies over the issues of religious and regional sentiments, JKPCC chief  Ghulam Ahmed Mir has cautioned the people to remain vigilant about the designs of communal and divisive forces in the State and defeat every attempt to disturb the traditional harmony and religious brotherhood.
Addressing a largely attended function at Marheen (Hiranagar), in district Kathua  today PCC chief expressed  serious concern over the prevailing atmosphere of conflict and controversies  over  issues of religious  and regional sentiments and blamed ruling coalition partners for the current situation. He blamed  the divisive policies of the coalition partners which have pushed the State into worst kind of atmosphere of conflict and disharmony.  Mir urged the people and the secular forces not to allow the evil designs of communal and divisive forces to succeed in the State.
Mir was speaking in a function in connection with year long celebrations of 125th  Anniversary of  Baba Saheb, Dr BR Ambedkar being observed by the Congress party throughout the  country including in the State. The function was attended by senior Congress leaders of the  party including Sham Lal Sharma, senior  vice president,  Mula Ram,   Raman Bhalla, Kanta Bhan, Ravinder Sharma- chief spokesman, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma, Ch Shah Mohd, Th Manmohan Singh, Namrata Sharma, Rajnish Sharma-co-treasurer, Indu Pawar- president Pradesh Mahila Congress,  Girdhari Lal Chalotra, Subash Gupta (Distt president), Prakash Sharma,  Balbir Singh, BS Sambyal (CSD),  Neeraj Gupta, Pranav Shagotra- president PYC,  Neeraj Kundan (NSUI),  Vinod Mishra,  Anil Chopra, Naresh Sharma, Manjit Jat and others.
Paying floral tributes to Dr Ambedkar, Mir  remembered the contribution of   Dr Ambedkar  in framing the  Indian Constitution wherein the provision for the welfare and the upliftment of  poor,   downtrodden and  each  & every section irrespective of caste, creed colour or religion  was kept and approved by the Constituent Assembly of the Country. He said that it is more important to remember Dr Ambedkar at the point of time when there are attempts  to distort history and dilute the democratic and secular structure in the Country.
Addressing the gathering former minister Sham Lal Sharma  criticized the communal and divisive forces who have  vitiated the atmosphere of peace and harmony in the State. He lashed out at the BJP leadership for its total surrender for the sake of power and said that people are deeply hurt by the second fiddle role of BJP despite having 26 Legislators from Jammu region. He said that people feel cheated and would teach a lesson to the ruling coalition at every available opportunity.
Chairman of  Dr Ambedkar Memorial Committee Mula Ram, former Minister, in his address recalled the history of contributions by Father of the Indian Constitution and said that it was Congress which offered him opportunity to frame the Constitution and made him as first Law Minister in the Cabinet of Pt Jawahar al Nehru.
