Sir,
Reference to the recent statement by the Deputy CM, who also holds the power portfolio, about curbing the power pilferage and providing round the clock power supply to the conserventious consumers.
This menace has elevated the sufferings of the people during hot and sticky summer, being the main cause of frequent power cuts and fluctuations causing a huge damage to voltage stabilizers and other cooling gadgets.
This dream of 24 hour power supply can only be fullfilled when the PDD Engineers instruct the field staff to visit to their assigned areas to enquire about the difficulties faced by the faithful consumers and to see whether the electricity is not misused by the blue eyed people having illegal connections.
Unless the illegal connections are banned and unmetered houses are not properly this menace shall continue and the loyal consumers have to bear the brunt of it, without enjoying the proper electric supply even after paying huge power tarrif bills.
This situation worsens during the summer season and the PDD staff never bothers to listen to the genuine grievances of the consumers.
If the proper survey is made according to the needs of various areas and electricity is properly distributed after detecting the power pilferage, in that case only the consumers shall heave a sigh of relief.
It is prayed that the Dy Chief Minister, who is keen to improve the power distribution of the State, should instruct the Engineers to have surprise visits to various areas to assess whether the power supply situation, so as to improve the power scenario in J&K State.
Yours etc…
