Nirvana Academy organises rural, urban talent hunt at Billawar

BILLAWAR, Sept 28: To promote budding talent in rural and urban areas of the State Nirvana Academy a cultural club registered under J&K Government organised a six day long rural and urban talent hunt of dance, singing and fancy dress at Billawar.
Today on the concluding day, participants from different schools, colleges of Billawar tehsil took part in the competition besides some artists from Jammu. More than 90 participants from Ramkot, Nagrota Gujjuru, Dewal, Phinter, Durang and other parts of tehsil Billawar took part in the programme. The programme comprises auditions, workshop and final competition held at New Age Group of Colleges, Dewal.
Aditi Sharma, President AWCT was the chief guest where as Principal New Age Degree College Neeru Rajput, Vice President AWCT, District Kathua Madam Sonia Anand and Principal K.K Vidhalya Ashok Mehta were the guest of honour on the occasion.
While speaking on the occasion, Aditi Sharma told that tehsil Billawar has very talent people and requested Nirvana Academy to organise such more programmes to promote talent of tehsil Billawar. Aditi Sharma added that more workshops should be organised in Billawar so that budding talent can get professional training and learn various forms of dance and singing.
Organiser, Rohit Sharma thanked the people of Billawar especially Principal New Age Degree College and Sonia Anand for their kind support and cooperation in making the event successful.
In the senior category of fancy dress Pallavi Sharma, Neha Rajput, Pankaj Kumar of K.K Vidhalya Durang stands first, second and third respectively where as Shivali Verma got appreciation medal.
In the junior category Komal Sambyal of K.K Vidhalya, Jaanvi Sharma of St. Mary Convent School, Ramkot and Siya Sharma of Billawar Public School got first, second and third prize where as Tanu Bharti of K.K Vidhalya won appreciation medal. Similarly in kids category Lokeshwar, Salman Sheikh and Niharika of K.K Vidhalya stands first, second, third and Zeenat Salaria got appreciation medal.
In the Senior category of dance Ravi Kumar of Satya Model school, Nancy Sapolia of K.K Vidhalya, Neeraj Upadhyay of St. Mary Convent School got first, second, third prize and Karan Singh won appreciation medal. Saanvi Sharma of Saint Mary Convent School, Ishu Mahajan and Siya Mahajan of Sacred Heart school took first, second and third in group A of junior and Arjun Singh of Budding Flower school took appreciation medal where as Sheetal Thakur, Rishika Sapolia, Anamika Sharma of K.K vidhalya stands first, second,third and Kritika devi won appreciation medal in group B of Junior category. In kids category Monika of K.K Vidhalya, Avni Purohit and Pawani Gupta of Saint Mary Convent won first, second, third prizes and Anjali Sharma of Saint Mary convent got appreciation medal.
In the senior of singing category Naresh Kumar and Meenakshi Sharma of K.K Vidhalya won first and second prize where as Sumesh Sharma of New Age College stands third. Neeraj Dogra of Saint Mary Convent got appreciation medal. Similarly in junior category Charu Sharma of Saint Mary Convent, Suhani Kalotra and Shubam Sapolia of K.K Vidhalya got first, second and third prizes. Manya Mahajan of Sacred Heart School got appreciation medal.
The selected candidates got trained in three day workshop by trainers from Jammu including Sourav Sonik where competition was adjudged by noted singer and musician of State Kuldeep Kumar and Dance choreographer Akshay Dogra. The final event was anchored by Ashutosh Bharti of Billawar.
